Session 13/12

The session started with that our heroes reassembled outside the mansion and Ray and Silver-Shadow showed the types they found inside. They decided that they should go to the two Homids school to check them out. They had no problem breaking in too the school, but when they got in Silver shadow sleeked away form the gang to get some bacon from the kitchen. 'Cous Bacon! It took tome time for the group to notice that she was gone, but after a while they did, and not short there after Silver shadow returned with a tremendous amount of raw bacon. They went to the assembly hall to use the projector to investigate what was on the types. There was 5 types that was named "Operation" and then a three-digit number. One of those proved to be that seamed to be an operation of an unconscious man. Under his intestines  a kind of tumor was found. Then they cut the thing i two and it was found to be filled with small worms. When they pored both tumor and worms in a "aquarium" and the wormers started to consume there shell. Then they watched a video that was named "birth of the cobra" but in Latin from December of 1948. Which was of a woman that, tied to a maternal chair, gave birth to (XXXunder great pain. It seamed normal, but had a way to small liver. Then they listened to a type with only noise with several voices screaming and then one said "I let it in" and all the other voices stopped and the same voice said, but in a lower key "Release me". Then they watched the third tape. "Making of the great worm" in Latin. Our heroes seas a women in crinos having sex with a man while the spectators smeared blood on the two persons. When they climaxes the women ate up the man. At the beginning of the tape Blood Oath mumbled "Black spiral Dancers". The last type was named "Death of the profeth" and was of tha same woman giving birth in crinos to a worm that then ate hear up and then attacked the prrsone that was holding the camera. Blood Oath then said that he would go and patrol, and our heroes should go back to the Carn and report, which they did. And after that all of the girls tryed to process what they just had see, for an example both Aya and Veronica went out in the forest to run and Ray sat dow and talked too Laughs at Death. After a few days they are called back and given the mission to goi back to the mansion and learn more. T.B.C

From Rays perspective

So, I and Silver-shadow met up with the others after our sneaky adventure in the creepy mansion. I stuffed my bag full of documents and tapes we had found in a safe. It was hidden in the ground, so they had to be important. Also, they practically screamed wyrm business.

We didn’t really have any projector or whatever is needed, but the school Veronica and Aya go to apparently do! Fancy that!

We ran as wolves through the forest, and I had the homids clothes in my bag. Considered running off with them but decided not to. Would’ve been funny but kinda disruptive. Also they could just stay in lupus, ruin my cred as a Grade A prankster!

The school was dark and empty. I complained a bit about how humans just leave all this space unused during the day when there are people freezing on the streets. The others had some stupid arguments about it being inconvenient; I didn’t really listen.

Silver-shadow snuck off to what I rightly assumed was the school kitchen. The others didn’t notice, but when they did, they were getting worried and suggested splitting up. I told them they were just acting stupid and that Silver-shadow was fetching bacon. Because, what else? She lives on that shit and, free bacon? Who can say no to that! She arrived with perfect timing to prove my point with a faceful of bacon. I got to shoot off a smug smile; it felt great!

We headed off to what the kids called an assembly hall. Huge room. We had five tapes to watch, so we got started quite quickly.

We got the tape “Operation” into the machine, and it was kind of gross.

It was as expected a video of an operation. I won’t be graphic because, you know, gross. There was a guy that was unconscious. I was hoping for dead, but there was movement. They dug around inside, and under some intestines, there was a massive tumor. They cut it apart, and small worms crawled out. They popped it into an aquarium together with the tumor remains, and they ate it all up, I mean, what?

The second tape was called “Birth of a cobra” or something similar. Suprise! A woman was giving birth to a snake. They cut that up too, what’s their goal here?

Veronica is good at knowing shit, so she pointed out that the liver was waaay too tiny. I mean, that wasn’t the weird part. The snake came out of a human after all. That was weird; small liver could mean anything.

Aaanyways, the third tape was static white noise with some added screaming for flavor. A voice said “Release me” in some deep dark tone. It sent a chill down my spine but I probably made some smart remark, I do that a lot.

The fourth tape was called "Making of the great worm." Written in Latin.

That’s when the thing got uncomfortable for the kids. A woman in crinos was having sex with a man while people smeared them in blood. Blood-oath growled and said “black spiral dancers.” I felt a chill go down my spine since i had heard it before. The kids were thankfully oblivious.

When they… uh.. Finished their “love making” she ate him. Quite rude and disgusting, and that’s coming from me. I eat garbage and Mama jays gumbo.

The last tape was called “Death of the prophet”. Sounded ominous, with a right. The same woman gave birth while in crinos. That wasn’t disturbing At All. If they don’t want mistakes like me being born, show this to all the cubs. “Hey, younglings! Today we will show you what happens if you do the hanky panky with another werewolf! It’s disgusting and so is what comes out!” I mean, hey what came out was a disgusting worm, but some would say that’s an improvement to some metis. The kids looked mortified, and i told them that isn’t what it’s like for most births. Leave it up to the metis and lupus to teach them about the birds and the bees, what could happen?

The worm-snake-thing ate everyone and everything. The cameraman got fucked up and then it was over. Stunned silence and Blood-oath thought it was a great moment to head off and patrol the house. Leaving it to me to calm them down. Yeah, bright idea. Not. Let the mentally fucked up one try to say the right thing.

Veronica almost worked herself into a frenzy, and I was ready to take it for the team. Luckily she managed to calm down and so did the rest. We got our furry asses out of there and got to the Caern. I talked to Wyrm-Chaser and handed her the tapes and documents. Also gave her a report about what we had seen and the importance of further patrols around the mansion.

Luckily they gave us some time off. Don’t know if the kids would’ve made it otherwise. Everyone just ran off as soon as they could, leaving me alone. In the dark. Douchebags.

I sat down brooding and Laughs-at-death and i had a surprisingly deep discussion about being born a freak.

After a while, Silver-shadow came back and fell asleep in my lap. Silly thing.

It is December 5th 1949 ingame

Our heroes start with a small briefing at the hanging tree by blood Oath Then. They then transforms in to Lupus and goes back to the mansion. Once there the group decided that Ray, Veronica and Silver-Shadow should sneak in to the mansion while Aya was to stay behind if she was to be needed to do something on the outside. Things happening outside are going to be written inside *.

They decided to use the window in the garage to get into the house. Ray used sense wyrm and got a funky feeling (totally the right term) right under the laundry room that was on the other side of the hallway. The gang went to the staircase to go down where they run in to two guard that they knocked and put in the elevator.

Instead of of going down at once the girls decided to investigate the rest of the floor. In one direction they found a sleeping accommodation where they threw in the two knocked guards, and in the other one they found a kitchen, and in the walk in fridge they found tree dead body one wolf, one human and one of a four year old boy filed with wyrm worms. SS almost frenzyd

* Blood Oath jumped out of the umbra to tell Aya to come an look at something in the umbra. While there  he showed our young thurge what was a ordinary fence in the Gaian Realm was here a wall witch seamed to have veins with green blood in them. Aya then returned to the physical world. *

SS then left the fridge and slammed the door witched made a guard to walk to the kitchen. So they knocked him and put him with the room with the other knocked guards. The the other guards had started to wake upp, so Veronica knocked them again and tied down all three. Ray them ran in to a maid and Rays wyrm-senses spiked, so she knocked her too and she is tied and put with the guards. Our tree heroes goes down the stairs and fiends and fights two guards. One knocks and one dies.

*Aya sees a car coming back to the mansion and driving up to the garage. She calls up the Wyver and asks him to tell the other girls that a car is riving up to the mansion. The wyver tells her that he will do his best. *

The Wyver gives tis message to the other girls, and they decide to split upp to cover more of the mansion before the owner discovered that half his security team was tied down in a bedroom. SS finds a big door and tries to smash it down but fails, twice. Ray and Veronica finds something that looks like a "temple room" with an egg on a pedestal in the middle, surrounded by a circle on the floor. Ray gets strong whyrm-mojo from the egg and decides to try and destroy it, but cant get in to the circle, so she start to trow something on it. And after a few tires she manage to push it down from the pedestal and it brakes and out from it a small worm (always there worms, gush i hate the wyrm..) start to crawl out of it. Ray tells Veronica to run for it, but she decides to stay.

Ray then finds then a shelf with books, and without letting the worm out of her sight she starts to examine the books. They proves to all have the same title, the same as the book Ray stole from this very house a few months ago. Veronica starts to look at the altar at the other side of the rooms. It is shown to be an casket and under the lid there is several urns. Veronica uses the lid lid to crouch the worm by tilting it over it and lets it just fall on it.

Behind the altar there is a door and behind it there is a room with more occult books an skins from humans. Then SS comes back and says that she need Ray to open a door, which she does. inside there is several doors.

In one of the cells there was a old lady in a wheelchair, in another there is a young girl, but all of the flesh on one of her legs are totally gone. In two other there is something that some would call undead people, and without telling any of the other girls Ray kills whatever they where. At the and of the hallway there was tree more room. In one there was a man that was in the process of cutting of the eyelids of a young women and Ray beaches his head into the wall.

The next room is empty, but in the last one they finds a man who grabs a syringe when he sees that someone is coming. SS attacks him, but before she can kill him, she is injected with something that burns in her wains, but still manage to incapacitate him. Then they goes up with the young girl and the old lady in the wheelchair. But when they get to the garage they meet a man he tells him that they will not be able to leave the property. Dum dum dum…

Blood oath comes out of the umbra an literally pulls Aya in to it where he tells her that they cant get in too the mansion and asks if sha there is anything she can do as a theurge to help. She recalls a ritual, "Rite of cleansing". She asks Blood Oath is he can get hear a branch of a willow and then asks all the other gharo that are there if they can come in too the umbra to help her, which they do

The mansion of madness
From Rays perspective!

So, this day started alright. Got up, got some grub, had a run with silver-shadow. We met the others at the hanging tree when it was time to get going and hopefully kick some ass! Oh boy, we had no idea what we were getting into with this one.
We were to head to the mansion because they for some reason thought that we’d know the place. I mentioned that we only saw one corridor, but blood-oath waved me off. The dick.

We run on four legs, silver-shadow playfully darting in the front and we got there quite quickly. The place looked creepy but what mansion doesn’t in the middle of the night? Especially with humans running about waving guns.

We realized that we might need someone outside to save our furry behinds if something went wrong. Aya stayed behind since Veronica can fight, Silver-shadow is sneaky, and I’m amazing at everything!
We decided to enter through the window of the garage; we fit easily through it. I used my ability to sense Wyrm and the feeling I got just ain't right. It was centered around below the laundry room, yes, really. The wyrm infestation was below a laundry room.

The others decided that we should sweep the floor for some reason. Whatever, it was a “group decision.” We knocked out some guards and Veronica, and silver-shadow hid them somewhere. I was more focused on the tainted eerie presence of wyrm taint wafting up from the staircase. It put me on edge.
We walked into a freezer and saw the dead body of a wolf, some adult human, and a small boy. I had to maneuver Veronica out so she wouldn’t do something stupid. My heart was breaking for silver-shadow, it must’ve been hard for her too. She was just less of a liability. I'm too jaded for grieving their deaths. At least they don't have to suffer anymore.

Silver-shadow slammed the door of the walk-in freezer, and it alerted a guard. We knocked him out, and he was carried off.
I ran into a maid and threatened her with a gun. She spiked my wyrm-radar, and we tied her up instead of letting her go. Fucking wyrm-swine.
We finally went down to the basement, and the Wyvern sent us a message from Aya. A car was heading up. Shit. We split up to cover more ground and find the source of the Wyrm taint. Veronica and I found it. A fucking egg in the middle of the room on some pedestal. It reminded us of a particular video we watched.
I couldn’t get into the ring around it and my tries to throw stuff at it did nothing. Veronica fucking lifted off what we assumed was this sacrificing table and made it fall over the egg. It worked. The kid made me look like an idiot.

Worms came slithering out, as they apparently always do. I tell Veronica to bolt; it was my decision to do this after all. The stubborn child didn’t though. It was just as well, what happened upstairs could've gone very wrong if she didn't have us there.

Silver-shadow had been trying to go through this steel-enforced door and fetched us to help. I got to play the hero and defeat the evil door with my magic powers! Inside I kind of felt like I shouldn’t have. It reeked of Wyrm and had humans suffering from the gravest wounds brought on by torture and experiments. I spared the ones that had a chance of making it. I saved the rest by letting them go. I didn’t want Veronica or Silver-shadow to try to save them or make the decision themselves. I have a cold heart, a warriors heart and I don’t want them to become like me. Nobody should have to.

In the last room, there was a man that wasn't a victim, before I could do anything silver-shadow jumps him. She didn’t see the syringe he was holding, and he plunged it into her soft hide. The heartbreaking yelp she gave out will never leave my nightmares. Just another voice added to the sea of guilt.
Wait, this got sad. I’m really not like this all the time! It just gets to me, you know? I care about her so much and if I was faster, better, stronger I could’ve kept her from harm. I whisper to her to change into lupus. She heals better, and I could carry her easier. I lift her up in my arms and bring her upstairs, holding her close, safe. Veronica got tasked with taking the survivors up the stairs.

When we get to the garage, there’s a man there. I hated him right away. That disgusting smug smile, I just wanted to tear it off. He said we were now unable to leave the house, and I said I didn’t care because he couldn't leave either. He made the mistake of believing that we’d rather make a deal than give our lives for Gaia. To bring an end to whatever was happening downstairs.

He realized that it was a hopeless case, so he disappeared. He seemed to have vanished, but the corner of my eye said that that he was just really fast.

Which meant that you Can leave the property, it’s just hard.

December 19th, 1949 - Midwinter Celebration part 1

It was on the eve of Midwinter Celebration and five days before Christmas when the sept of the Burning Heart called for a gathering in the Caern of the Stone Cauldron. But Silver Shadow, Blood Oath and most Get of Fenris was away on a Tribal moot. Blood Oath had left a message written in large crude characters to Ray, Aya and Veronica. It simply read “DONT FUK UP”.

When the trio arrived, Ray in her crinos form, while Aya and Veronica were in their homid forms, it seems like the gathering was just about to start, as most had gathered in a semi-circle around a podium where Creek Mother faced them. A few galliards drummed a foreboding rhythm. She locked impatient at the trio as if she was disappointed that they just arrived.

Ray gave voice to a thought that the trio shared: “We got here as soon as we could” and several of those that already had sat down gave her a stern look. “I mean, sorry” she continued, and got shushing from a few of them.  They sat down quite quickly with the others.

Creek Mother then begun to speak to those whom had gathered:

”As the Darkest time of the year is approaching, I have gathered thee here for Midwinter Celebration, but also to learn. So, today we shall go thru the entire Litany.”

Several of the younger garou muttered, most about how they already knew the Litany. Creek Mother gave them a stern look and they quickly stiffened up and became quiet, and then she continued:

“I will ask the newest Cliath to come up and cite the tenets of the Litany.”

One after another, the younger Cliath were called to cite one tenet of the Litany, in order. A few made some minor mistakes, but Ray and Aya both managed to do so without any errors. Ray had a low conversation with a young Get of Fenris in the meantime and suddenly laughed out loud and got a few stern looks. Then the young Fenrir then said:

“Come on, man. I did not give myself that name. It’s an embarrassing story.”

With Veronica as one of the few exceptions, almost everybody looked at Ray. Ray then answered:

“His name is Spring Pisser.”

There were a few muted laughs. The young Fenrir tried to plea:

“Come on, guys, it wasn’t me. You gave it to me.”

Suddenly Creek Mothers voice cut thru:

“Would Ray step up so that the rest of the gathering, so we can all see her in her Ragabash glory.”

“Sure, but I already did my turn.”

“Come up!”

“I’m on my way”

Once Ray once more was on the podium, Creek Mother spoke:

“Can you tell me the sixth tenant of the Litany?”

“Yeah, people have been telling me that all the time.”

“Tell me the sixth tenant of the Litany.”

“’Respect those of lower station, for all are of Gaia’, but he is not of lower rank than me, is he?”

Creek Mother leant forward towards Ray and spoke to her, loud enough for others to just hear it:

“Even if someone’s name is a mockery, we do not point it out in a moot.”

“I know”, answered Ray, somewhat rueful. “It was just so funny!”

“You are starting to disturb me, Ray”, answered Creek Mother I a normal voice, but continued in a harsh growling tone that made the ground vibrate. “And you do not want me disturbed.”

“Fare, it is your gathering”, answered Ray. “I go sit down and try to shut up.”

“Next time, I will bring out punishment.”

“That sounds scary.”

Laughs at Death looked at Ray with a serious expression and nodded eagerly.

Ray went down to the others, and whispered to Spring Pisser:

“I respect your silly name”

He looked sad. Creek Mother continued:

“Now, let’s take someone with a more promising future. Veronica, please come.”

Veronica did like the others before her, and went up the podium and stood before Creek Mother, whom continued:

“Please, tell us the seventh tenant of the Litany.”

“The first share of the kill for the greatest in station”, answered Veronica in her usual low and serious voice.

“Great, that is a prime example of garou society. And also we have one of good linage before us here, haven’t we? We are to pair you up with a kinfolk soon.”

Veronica raised an eyebrow at that, somewhat confused, and then went back to her place after being indicated at doing that.

Creek Mother continued to call up young Cliath and made them cite tenants of the Litany, and most did well. When all was done, Ray raised her paw.

“What is it?” asked Creek Mother

“Aren’t we always at war? So, what counts as peace?” asked Ray in a somewhat uncharacteristic serious tone.

Everybody went quiet, and Spring Pisser whispered to her:

“You shouldn’t really have asked that out loud.”

Creek Mother answered so that all could hear:

“When we are not in direct conflict or the sept leader declares a period of peace, would be the straightest answer.”

“What are we at now?” asked Ray.

“We are considered to be in a war time.”

“Thank you, Creek Mother, I just thought it was a good opportunity to know more of the Litany, sense we are learning about it.

“Good, young Ray” answered Creek Mother, both inspecting and slightly annoyed, but also somewhat approving.

“Without further ado, let’s discus something which is very important, now that I have all younglings amongst me. The matter of fact is that we are lacking warriors for this great battle that is garou existents. Especially sense the sept is running short due to the assault that occurred on the Caern of the Burning Heart, which you all know is overtaken. This means that you all will need to pitch in to reproduce. Although we will do so in an orderly and arranged fashion, which means that there will be some arranged marriages and the ilk to come during the year. Only however to those of those that I consider of appropriate maturity and age, for a quick reference, that means girls of the age of 17 or higher in human counting for homids, or 2 or higher for lupus.”

Ray at once got stone faced and bitter, Aya got stone faced and worried, and Veronica first seemed worried and then relieved. Creek Mother continued:

“Male members on the other hand are supposed to give their contribution from the age of 16 for homids or 2 for lupus. The seed needs to be planted. This of course only is for you garou is a different matter, but that will be arranged among those of you who are in charge of your kinfolk.”

Ray raised her paw, but Creek Mother ignored that and continued:

“Metis on the other hand you will have other important duties. You are equally useful to the garou cause, especially when the time comes, when those around you are in laboring times. This means that more responsibilities will fall upon your frail hands and I expect you to take up your full responsibilities of arms and defend that which needs to be defended, while your brave brothers and sister will go out and reproduce and create the next generation of the greatest warriors of Gaia there is.”

Most rejoiced, a few hesitating, but Ray still kept her paw in the air. The Creek Mother still ignored that and continued:

“And of course those metis who will step up to service during that time will in talens and possible fetishes, the same will go to all who willingly go to bear children or making them. Now, time for questions. Oh, I see we only have one.”

“Am I allowed to speak?” wondered Ray.

“Speak, but utter no stupidity or mockery.”

“What would happen to someone if they refused? I am not talking for me, I would fight just as I do now, but you know… curiosity and all that. Sounds like a lot to… never mind.”

Creek Mother gave an amused look and answered:

“Choice? There exists no choice in the garou nation. There is only the war against the Wyrm and our duty for which we are sworn. We are the foremost protectors of the world.”

“So, you would force them?”

“We would make sure that their Gaia given right and opportunity will be made.”

Veronica’s great grandfather, Pioter, whom sat a bit away, seemed to be a bit repelled by all of this.

“Okay,” answered Ray. “Good that we got that clear.”

“Oh,” continued Creek Mother and met Ray’s eyes. ”For those who tries tricks there will be serious repercussions. There can be no escaping the garou society.”

“What do you mean by ‘tricks’,” wondered Ray.

”Oh, I think you as a Ragabash perfectly know what I mean. But for those who are more dimwitted than our dear Ray here. You cannot flee, and you cannot hide, for the eyes of the nation are wide seeing and eyes of this Caern are as well. But now, let us not dim down our spirits with future concerns. There is a feast prepared; there is a smorgasbord of drinks and food to be had. Enjoy yourselves. “

The galliards started once again to play, but not a foreboding rhythm, but rather a joyful melody, led by Laughs at Death who in a magnificent voice sang a ballad about drinking and feasting.

Ray transformed into lupus and left. Aya seemed very upset and walked away in a different direction with a steady pace. Veronica just sat there in deep thoughts, but after a while she noticed that her pack mates were gone and followed Ray.

A few Get of Fenris tried to get Aya to drink with them, but she answered with a somewhat forced smile:

“No thank you, I need to punch something.”

“You should enter the wrestling competition,” answered to you Fenrir.

“I can enter a wrestling competition with you face, if you want to.”

“Oh, man,” answered the Fenrir somewhat unsteady. “I will put some talons on the ground for that shit.”

“No thank you”

“But I got these sweet bane arrows and all, man.”

Aya ignored him and went away.

Veronica went after Ray, and on a cliff edge a bit away from the Cairn, she found her, in lupus form, very sad. She walked up to her and sat down next to her and asked:

“Do… do you want me to leave?”

Ray shook her head, but did not answer. Then she put her muzzle on Veronicas shoulder. Somewhat hesitating and stiff Veronica leaned back. After a while Veronica asked:

“I guess, this is not something you want to talk about?”

“Do you know why I am sad?” asked Ray.

“I know that you are a metis, and I know what that means regarding these kinds of things, but I guess you are sad about something connected to all of this, what they were talking about. I am sorry; I am not really good at this.”

“Silver Shadow and I are more than friends.”

“Yeah, you are very good friends.”

“Eh, I love her, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. And she will not accept this, and they will force her to do something that will destroy her. I don’t care if I can’t be with her, but I don’t want them to do that to her. It’s wrong. It’s disgusting. ”

“Yeah. I… I’m sorry. I didn’t think about Silver Shadow when they said those things. I thought about myself and I was kind of relived when understood that it didn’t apply to me for a couple of years. But for her, what happened to her. Her family…”

“Yeah,” grunted Ray.

“I… I don’t know how we are going to tell her when she comes back.”

“I am quite sure there is a reason why she is at that moot and I am here. Creek Mother knew. She gave me a quite long stare, which could write novels. I’m quite sure that is why Silver Shadow isn’t here, so it can be dealt with separately.”

“Okay.  I just hope they don’t do anything… mean…”

Rays eyes then went wide and she ran off into the forest and left Veronica behind. After running for a while she encountered a black wolf with silver streaks on his muzzle and heavy side burns. It was Laughs at Death, who said:

“Hello there, friend. I see you are troubled.  I want to see what’s going on with you.”

“Can’t a garou take a stroll in the forest? Getting away from all this music?” answered Ray between clenched teeth.

“They are not going to do what you think they are.”

“Oh?” wondered Ray, raising the wolf equivalent to an eyebrow.

“I am a Galliard and a Shadow Lord; I know secrets in this place. Not much escapes my view. Well, the Galliard part undermines my argument, but I know a lot and I see these kinds of things. Let’s just say that I know of your current predicament and you don’t have to worry. Nothing is going to happen were they are now. They are having a celebration.”

“Of course you are saying that. We are having a celebration too, but…”

“I mean, they are not goanna force something upon her now.”

“It is the ‘now’, that worries me,” answered Ray.

“And I have a feeling that they are going to… as long as you got Blood Oath on your side things are going to get hard for anyone who tries to do anything to you.”

“I don’t care what they do to me.”

“When I say ‘you’, I mean your pack.

“So you are saying Blood Oath isn’t on our side?”

“No, what I mean is people who are trying to do stuff to you are going to have a hard time, because there will be an eight foot tall motherfucking werewolf with a huge fucking silver-iron hammer!”

“He can’t be there all the time. He’s got his own missions. But I can and I will.”

“Ray. You got to understand that there is more to this that the whimsies of Creek Mother.”

“If you know anything, you know what she went through.”

“I… am not sure about her backstory, but I do know that she don’t want to do things when forced.

“She had puppies. And they died during her first change. This is not about me. This is about her not being hurt. I don’t care if I can’t ever be with her. I would rather never see her again than she having to go through that.”

“If I know Creek Mother there is always a loophole. You just got to pay the toll to pass through the loophole.”

“What loophole?”

“Oh, you are dense,” answered Laughs at Death and put his paw on his nose. “Through the thing, the mating program.”

“Oh, I know, obviously, but what are we supposed to do? You are being vague, as, well as a Shadow Lord. I am not dense; it is you who are not being able to communicate, because you are so… sorry.”

“I don’t know what she wants, but you can probably make a deal with her is what I am saying. Although I am not sure you want to pay the prize she offers… because she can charge you heavily.”

“I will do anything for Silver Shadow,” answered Ray.

“Very well then. You know where to find her.”

Ray nodded and answered:

“Also, it is a lot easier when you actually say what you mean. If you want to tell someone something if you don’t try to keep it back. It ruins the purpose of talking.”

“I am being as clear as I can. What I am saying is that there probably is a loophole in this thing. And you can probably find it. What I am saying is that you can probably bribe Creek Mother, or…

“Yes, yes. I realized after that. It just took, like ten minutes to get there.”

“I am a Shadow Lord, what do you expect?”

“I am a Bone Gnawer, what do you expect from me?”

“Eh, not much. The only thing I expect is, well… not to desecrate the Caern.”

“I expect you to have flees.”

“That is my level of expectation of you,” he finished with a wolf grin, as Ray laughed.

“Is that why everyone is so impressed by me?”

“Yeah. What I mean is, due to your low status, Creek Mother can demand a pretty high prize from you.”

“I don’t care. I’ll go to her. Thank you.”

“Just be aware of that.”

“It is not like we have a few year, like Veronica, and she will grow in to it.”

“Oh, by the time Veronica… this breeding program will most likely be off the charts.“

“Program?”

“It is this thin that Creek Mother has convinced the council of Elders and other ruling parties here of.”

“First time I am happy to be a metis,” answered Ray.

“Maybe not for long.”

“What do you mean by that?” wondered ray as she narrowed her eyes.

“Well, who do you think they are going to put on the front line guard, while about one third of the Caern is pregnant?”

“I’ll do my duty as I always do,” answered Ray with a shrug.

“And beside, Creek Mother is probably going to have some hefty, hard prize.”

“Yeah, but… thank you.”

“We metis goanna stick together, you know,” said Laughs at Death and grinned with his wolf smile.

Ray nodded and answered:

“It is goanna be hard just the, like five of us. It is going to be a tiny front line.”

“I think there is probably more like fifteen of us now.”

“They are breeding like rats then.”

“Well, they are going to pull in some people from the Bone Gnawers and some contacts from other places, and you know shamed outcasts.”

“Didn’t you already mention Bone Gnawers?”

“No, I meant shamed outcast who have not yet stooped to the level of becoming Bone Gnawers,” he answered with a grin. “Wait. That eye. It is somewhat familiar.”

The black wolf took a closer look at Ray’s snakelike left eye.

“What?” wondered Ray. “What’s with my eye?”

“I don’t know. I think I heard about that somewhere. I’ll look it up in my notes. I might be able to find out who are your parents. Because I believe I heard of someone who had a similar deformity as that eye.”

“What?” wondered Ray, quite confused.

“What I am saying is that some metis ‘Get of Fenris’ with such an eye, but its goanna cost you a favor or a talen.”

“Well, I’ll go see Creek Mother and then I’ll see what’s left of me”

“That might be more accurate than you think,” answered Laughs at Death and laughed.

“At least she is not a Shadow Lord. I heard making deals with you guys are harder.”

“I… I think she is worse than a Shadow Lord,” said the wolf and laughed.

“I’m just saying, that if she was a Shadow Lord too…” said Ray.

“Oh, then you would be in Malfeas,” said Laughs at Death.

In the meantime, Veronica figured two things out. First, that Ray probably wanted to be alone at the moment. Second, that Aya was nineteen years old. Old enough that the breeding program to apply to her. Veronica run back and tried to find Aya, but she was nowhere to be found. She asked around but no one knew where she was.

“Hello,” a voice suddenly said. Veronica did not recognize it at first, and then she did. It was Wyvern, talking in her head. “You are looking for the Black Fury.”

“Yes,” answered Veronica. “Yes, I am.”

“She is currently running in the direction of the Silver Oak,” the Wyvern mind spoke back.

“I think I better catch up.”

“If you come to the Umbra, I will give you a lift.”

“Can you?! Whoa,” Veronica wondered excited.

As soon as Veronica managed to get over to the Umbra, Wyvern swooped in and landed next to her.

“Hello Wyvern,” said Veronica. “I’m sorry but we got some bad news about Aya, and I didn’t understand how bad they were at first. I think I need to catch up to her.”

Wyvern grabbed Veronica in one of his claws and flew up. Veronica found it a little bit scary, but also very exhilarating. After a while, Wyvern spoke:

“We are in front of her, about 200 meters.”

Then he threw Veronica to a pond. She started to dive, shifted from to the Realm as she fell, dove into the real pond and swam to the edge and crawled up, dripping with water. This was how Aya in her lupus form saw her, somehow having managed to get in front of her, in her quite small homid form with wet cloths. She stopped quite hastily.

Veronica then went down on her knees leaned forward and hugged Aya. Aya however, backed away to get out of Veronicas embrace.

“I’m sorry,” said Veronica. “I didn’t think about what it meant for you back then they were talking. I’m sorry. I only thought about myself for a moment. It is quite upsetting for you isn’t it?”

“That old hag,” answered Aya, “want to force me to marry someone I maybe don’t even know the name of cause she just want more warriors. I will have none of it!”

“Ehm… You are quite angry now, aren’t you?”

“Oh, you guessed? Oh, amazing that you can read me that good!”

“Sorry,” said Veronica in a very miserable voice. It was apparently to no avail. Aya had been working herself up to frenzy and started to shift into crinos. Aya shoved Veronica to the side and started to rush forward and simply plowed through the undergrowth. Veronica started to run after her, but simply could not run fast enough in her homid form so she started to shift through the forms all the way to lupus. In that form she continued to run after the frenzied Aya, but did not try to run ahead or stop her.

Eventually Aya calmed down enough to get out of frenzy about a hundred meter from the Caern of the Silver Oak. Veronica quickly ran ahead, sat down, shifted to hispo and asked:

“You in there angry?”

“If I want to go in there angry? You ask me that?! Really?” asked Aya still quite angry.

“You need… vent anger.”

“I need to talk about this with someone of my own tribe”

Veronica then walked a bit to the side, to get out of the way, showing that she would not stop Aya. Aya, still in her crinos form, started to walk into the caern. Veronica, shifted back to lupus, followed a bit behind.

A bit into the caern Oak Friend walked up to Aya and said:

“Oh, friend. You’re in a rush.”

“Do you know where Eve or Water Mother is?” asked Aya

“Oh, oh. I think she is training behind the tree, in the training yard.”

“Which one of them?”

“The big one.”

Aya walked around the enormous oak to a training field covered by sand. There a quite large werewolf in glabro donned in bronze armor wielding a labris battleax against training dummies. Aya went to the side, waiting, though a bit impatient for the woman to finish her training, and shifted to homid. Veronica followed hesitating a bit back still in lupus.

“Hello young daughter, what brings you here to my sept?” asked the woman known as Wind Daughter.

“It’s… It’s Creek Mother,” answered Aya. “The sept leader in Stone Cauldron. She has… She has decided that… She will have a breeding program of some sort.”

Wind Daughter took a deep breath, and snorted thru her nostrils. Aya continued:

“She wants every girl over 17 and every boy over 16 to create children.”

“What is this forceful blasphemy?!” asked Wind Daughter in a tone she just barely manage to keep from a shout.

“I don’t… I don’t know what to do,” said Aya, beginning to show fear in her eyes.

“I shall have a word with the old hag. That witch will not befoul one of my brood. But I will not rush in there unprepared. I will summon my council of elders. You will stay here within my camp… and the daughter of Pioter is also welcome to stay,” said Wind Daughter as she look at Veronica who anxiously sat a bit back and waited.

Wind Daughter then walked, almost stomped, away and casually cleaved one of the training dummies in half on her way out from the training area, while shouting:

“Autumn Leaf!”

After a while, Oak Friend walked over to Aya and said:

“Oh, this does not look good.”

“Creek Mother, the sept leader in Stone Cauldron intent to have a breeding program,” answered Aya.

“Not undone before”

“And it was quite obvious that if you didn’t want it, you didn’t have a choice.”

“This will be… how do you say it? an interesting turn of event. Your mother and Wind Daughter are close friends. Well, I can tell you directly, that you will probably not have to do anything. But this might increase tensions between tribes and harden further collaborations, but when it comes to garu law Creek Mother is to do as Creek Mother pleases with her own sept. Thou you are technically kind of a part of it, but kind of… borrowed. This put you in a weird gray zone, so this can be a whole lot of a mess.”

“Oak Friend?”

“Yes?”

“I am scared,” said Aya with a miserable voice.

Oak Fried walked towards Aya and put his hand on her shoulder, and answered:

“I am confident it will be solved in the best way. Believe in your tribe sisters. They will protect you.”

“I hope so,” said Aya with still quite a sad voice, but with a bit of hope in it. “I hope that I have not done anything to put anyone at risk by coming here with this.”

“No, news would have come here sooner or later. But she is of a hefty temper, although Autumn Leaf tends to be able to calm her. We will see what happens. We will see what happens.”

In the meantime, Ray had walked to Creek Mother. She was at the main table overviewing the activities of the feast with an alcoholic brew in front of her.

“Ah, the jester has approached my table,” said Creek Mother with a slightly joking tone.

“Hello Creek Mother,” ray responded.

“I am here to discuss something with you. Is it a good time?”

“That depends. Will you preform proper etiquette?” she asked with a raised eyebrow, giving the impression that Ray had neglected to do something.

“Creek Mother, I will do anything you want. I am not used to your customs here.”

“What do you think I want you to do?”

“Right now? I don’t know. Honestly. I have been drinking too.”

“Do the pups usually come up to Rust Wolf without any formal humbling gesture?” asked Creek Mother.

“Depends on the pup,” Ray answered. “What does the pup do to him that I didn’t?”

“Kneel,” said Creed Mother with a glare.

Ray shifted to homid and kneeled.

“Put your face to the ground.”

Ray made a very uncomfortable face but did put both her keels down and bowed until her face touched the ground.

“Now, you can talk to me,” said Creek Mother. “But keep your eyes down.”

“Is there anything I can do to protect Silver Shadow from this?”

“The breeding?” asked Creek Mother.

“She will fight it, and will not make it. I do know that during such events if there is shifting at the end the offspring might die and…”

“What can you offer me?” asked Creek mother with a cunning smile.

In the meantime Aya had found some cloths to put on, and sat down next to a fire, when Veronica walked up to her, naked and with a sad face.

“Do you know that Ray is totally devastated?” asked Veronica.

“Aren’t we all?” asked Aya.

“No, not for herself. Well, she connected the dots a lot quicker than I did. Silver Shadow.”

“I did not think of her.”

“Neither did I.”

“I just… It’s not really… I did not really think of her as an adult in the same way as me. But she is. Even more.

“Yes,” answered Veronica. “And we know at least a bit of her past.”

“Yeah, I looks like you know more than me.”

“Hmm. Ray is the one who really understands Silver Shadow. She has spent a lot of time with her. And Ray says that Silver Shadow won’t be able to handle this… at all.”

“But how… How could Creek Mother ever think that people would just get on with this plan? It’s just… It’s just not decent to force people into… this.”

“No, it isn’t. At first I only thought about myself. And I was first horrified, and then relived, and then I saw you and Ray stomped off in different directions. I followed Ray first and she explained that she was thinking about Silver Shadow. And then I tried to catch up to you, but you… were not ready to listen to me.”

“How did you catch up to me?” asked Aya.

“Wyvern helped me.”

“Wyvern helped you?”

“Yeah. I shifted to the Umbra and Wyvern gave me a lift. It was quite… extraordinary, exhilarating.”

“Yeah, I guess” chuckled Aya. “So, what now?” she continued in a more serious voice. “Do we just sit here to…?”

“No, we have to think of something. And despite that you rushed away, you actually did think of something. I did not. You thought about coming here. And I think… well I hope they might be able to help. At least with you, but I don’t think they will be able to help Silver Shadow.”

“I do not know if they want to.”

“No, but I definitely think that Ray will try to do anything to help Silver Shadow out of this. I just hope she doesn’t do anything foolish.”

“It’s Ray we are talking about,” said Aya with a bit of a snort. “What do you think will happen? She will make a snorty comment, and then get punished and then charm her way out of it.”

“I hope so,” answered Veronica, still with a sad voice.

“Well. Hopefully I haven’t started a big war between Silver Oak and Stone Cauldron by going here.”

“Well, you didn’t start anything. They were going to find out. Weren’t they? If you hadn’t come here, they would have found out tomorrow, next week, well at least a couple of months from now, they would know. Wouldn’t they?”

“At least before all cubs started to pop out,” answered Aya with a smirk.

“So, no,” continued Veronica in her low sad voice. “You did not start anything. Well I guess you will be staying here, for at least a little while now? Is it anything you want me to say to Ray when I go back, and later to Silver Shadow?”

“I hope they don’t feel like I am abandoning them. I just feel that… I don’t have a choice. I don’t want to be forced into having kids yet. And I don’t want to be forced into having kids with a person that I don’t love. With a person that I don’t know the name of.”

“Well, I don’t really understand all of this, but I can’t think of myself as a mother.”

“You are just a child,” said Aya.

“Well, she said they wouldn’t do anything until I was 17, and that is a couple of years away.”

“But still, you will have this hanging over you until then.”

“Well, a lot can happen in that time I guess,” answered Veronica with a miserable voice. “I mean, it was just about three months ago that all of this started happening for me. I guess it is something similar for you?”

“Yeah,” answered Aya. “It is all a bit scary. I… I can deal with that there is a greater force wanting to corrupt the entire world, and that my whole life I am meant to fight it. But I don’t want to get forced into marriage with a person that I don’t want to. That scares the whit out of me.”

“Well, I really hope they are not forcing you to do anything.”

“I hope that there is a way out for Silver Shadow.”

“Me too, so… do you still need to vent that anger?”

“I think I am good for now,” answered Aya with a tired smile.

“You definitely need to vent it sooner or later.”

“I’ll just go and punch a few more trees, than I get the need.”

“I don’t think that would be enough, but we are a bit different so…”

“Yeah. You know what I would like now? A milkshake! I actually want a milkshake. Really cold, really big with lots of whipped cream on it. Strawberry. I want strawberries in it.”

“I hope everything will be alright, I think I will go back to Ray now,” said Veronica.

“Do so; I think she needs you more than me.”

But just as Veronica shifted into lupus, Wind Daughter came walking with her labris over her shoulder, and with Autumn Leaf walking next to her, who was talking to Wind Daughter:

“But you cannot just rush into this; you have to think calmly my friend.”

“Fuck that!” answered Wind Daughter. “I am going in there to put the stones down.

“You cannot just rush into a hard diplomatic situation like this. Think it through, ok?” said Authumn Leaf.

They continued to argue back and forth for a while. At the end, Wind Daughter said:

“I’ll think this trough. I will go there myself with Aya I will have a discussion with Creek Mother.”

Wind Daughter put her labris in a holster over her shoulder, shifted to lupus and nodded towards both Aya and Veronica to come with her, and then she started to run. The three garou started to run in their lupus forms towards the Caern of the Stone Cauldron.

Over at the Stone Cauldron, Ray faced Creek Mother’s final offer:

“So, Ray, my mead is almost to the bottom.”

Ray took a deep breath and closed her eyes, and answered between clinched teeth:

“I’ll do it.”

“Excellent. Let’s make the signing.”

Creek Mother brought forth what looked like a ritual dagger.

“Now, where to put the mark, somewhere not seen. I think I have a good idea,” said Creek Mother with an insidious smile. She continued:

“Now, I will sign our little contract.”

Creek Mother signaled to Ray to approach, and said:

“Why don’t you take your shirt off?”

Hesitatingly Ray removed her shirt, to reveal for a woman quite a muscular upper body and with bare breasts who easily could be mistaken for those of a young man. Creek Mother looked a bit disapprovingly, and said:

“That does not really work. Your usually wear cloths, right?”

“Yes,” answered Ray.

“Good enough. Now, this will sting.”

“Not as much as this deal.”

Creek Mother laughed sinisterly, and said:

“Put your hands behind your back.”

Ray did so, and Creek Mother started to carve a rune just below one of Ray’s breasts. Ray grinned while Creek Mother continued to carve as well as in a low voice chant a spell in a strange language. Then the old woman bit her own thumb and smeared blood from the wound on her thumb over the wound made in Ray’s skin by the carving of the rune. Then she put a bandage over the wound, and proceeded by picking up Ray’s shirt and throwing it to her. Ray immediately put it on.

“It will not be visible in you more wolfish forms, the fur will cover it,” said Creek Mother. “But I would prefer if you did not go flaunting that thing about.”

“I will not,” answered Ray.

“Although, for good measure, I will fix it when it is healed.”

“Fix it?”

“You will notice. You will not be able to disappoint me now.”

Ray shrugged, and mumbled:

“Won't be able to disappoint anyone more than this.”

“Oh, and Ray?”

“Yes?”

“Enjoy yourself tonight. It is a night of celebration.”

Ray laughed bitterly and walked out of the tent. She shifted to crinos and did go towards the celebration to grab two huge pints of beer to take with her. A young Get of Fenris went towards her and said:

“Hey, you, Ray… you drinking. You good at handling drinks, right?”

“I am not good with company right now.”

“We are having a drinking competition, wanna join? The winner gets this pot of… things.”

“Nae, that is all right. You enjoy.”

“Okay… buddy. Have… fun,” he said with two thumbs up and walked away.

Another Get of Fenris, Spring Pisser, walked up to Ray. Despite being in crinos form he was not very large, and said in a soft voice:

“How are you doing? You don’t look so good.”

Ray downed half of one of the beer pints, and answered:

“I’ll think I just fucked up the rest of my life.”

“Do you want some water with that?” asked Spring Pisser.

“There is some water in it,” answered Ray.

“I was more thinking that you will have some sting in the head tomorrow.”

“I don’t care.”

“Oh, okay. Would you like some of my meat pie?” he asked and held a homemade pie towards Ray, and continued:

“I do a lot of catering here in the caern.”

“What kind of meat is it?” asked Ray.

“It is pig. I picked it up from a local butcher I know.”

“As long as there is no rat in it, I’ll take some.”

“I don’t think Jimbo the butcher would have any rats in his prime steak.”

“I just have my principles, apparently.”

“There is no rat in it, I can guarantee that.”

Spring Pisser cut a generous piece of the pie and gave it to Ray on a plate.

“Why are you called Spring Pisser?” asked Ray. “Did you piss in water someone was drinking out of?”

“It is a long story. Story short is that I was really wasted one time, and we were in this like, weird deep Umbra place and I had to go take a leak you know, and when I took a piss, instead of it becoming regular urine, I pissed a rainbow with flowers and shit. And my pack saw that, and they were like ‘haha, spring pisser’.”

“That was pretty funny actually.”

“And the name just stuck.”

“Have you owned it yet? Or does it still sting?”

Spring Pisser shrugged, and answered:

“A little bit of both.”

“Well, you get used to it,” said Ray as she tasted the pie. ”As long as you accept it and won’t take it as an insult, it will be easier. Also, you should be called Pie Maker.”

“Thank you, I did my best.”

“Pie gone, pie pie,” said Ray with a voice who was a bit slurring.

“Three point fourteen?” asked Spring Pisser.

“What?”

“Pi.”

“Eh, yes?”

Ray, who had intended to go to the cliff where she both left Veronica, and last saw Silver Shadow, instead ending up chatting with Spring Pisser, eating pie and drinking beer. The time just flew by, until the music suddenly stopped.

At the edge of the Caern of the Stone Cauldron, Wind Daughter, Aya and Veronica had arrived. Veronica who had followed them till the Caern now went a bit to the side, to find a private place, shift into homid and put the cloths she had picked up on the way and carried in her mouth while she ran in her lupus form.

Wind Daughter shifted into crinos, walked with determined steps with Aya at her right side. As she walked into the Caern, she shouted:

“Creek Mother! Show yourself!”

Along with most people in the Caern, Ray heard this. She wanted to see it, but she found that she was lying on the ground, still in crinos. She half mumbled, half shouted:

“Spring… Pie Pisser. That the one.”

“No… that’s not…” answered Spring Pisser anxious.

“Can you help me see this?”

Spring Pisser helped Ray up.

“I like Pie Pisser better, for if you make pies, you can like, piss them out quickly, so you can make really quickly.

“But… But I don’t on my pies,” protested Spring Pisser in a quiet but somewhat desperate voice.

“No, you piss out pies; you don’t piss on you pies.”

“Please don’t call me Pie Pisser. The pie thing is all I got.”

“Oh, I’ll call you Party Pie then.”

“That… I’ll actually kind of like that.”

They were not the only ones who talked while news traveled to Creek Mother who then came out from her tent, met Wind Daughter, and then spoke:

“Ah, greetings to you… my allied friend. What brings honored Wind Daughter of the Black Fury Tribe, sept leader of the Silver Oak to my humble domain?”

“We need to discuss business,” answered Wind Daughter and grunted. “This breeding program of yours, is in no good standing with Black Fury philosophy”

“Well, not much is in good Black Fury philosophy, is it?”

Wind Daughter did not answer, but growled and looked with cold eyes on Creek Mother.

“And also,” continued Creek Mother, “you do not have many warriors, do you? You come to my sept, trying to make demands, from me and my Get?!”

Quite a number of the garou at the feast gave approving shouts at those words, as well as some voices gave rise to disapproving of Black Furies. Creek Mother continued:

“But even so, what demands would you put to me?”

“I wish that you did not force this breeding program on any of your females.”

Creek Mother seemed to be taken aback by that statement:

“How dare you assume that you have any influence over how I should use this power, and what tactical decisions I make? As you might be aware of, we had a hard hit. Our warriors, many of them have been killed off; we are struggling to hold our defensive lines. And yet, you come here and say I cannot replenish my troops? It is almost as if you want to weaken my defenses.”

Wind Daughter seemed to hesitate, and said:

“No, it is not what I am saying, is that I do not want you to force people to do anything.”

“Well, we can’t all be idealists, like you Wind Daughter. Some of us have to be hard realists. I know that my brave Get, and the Shadow Lords will stand with me, that they are practical and will sacrifice some of their personal freedom for the betterment of both tribe and sept. So, if you have no further things or evidence to point out… I do believe that I am in the just and you are the intruder upon my ground.”

There was completely silence for a while. Creek Mother then continued:

“I will not take this as a personal offence; sense we are both proud members of the garou nation. However, we can maybe arrange a deal when it comes to the young Black Fury. It has come to my attention that she has a love interest, a human. Is this not correct, Aya Crawford?”

Aya looked at Wind Daughter, who looked back questioning.

“Yes… Yes, that is the case,” answered Aya.

“And, does Aya Crawford wish to be a part of this sept and this pack that she is already in?”

“Yes, that is true too.”

“So, is it not fair that Aya Crawford does the same brave sacrifice as all sept comrades or do you think you are in some manner better than the rest of us? More deserved of rest?”

Some of the other garou looked at Aya a bit disapproving.

“In the future, yes, I would want kids, but not yet. I don’t know if he wants kids now. I can’t force him to.”

Creek Mother laughed, and said:

“Humans opinions have never been a problem. There are always tricks to get into the pants of a man.”

Some younger garou chuckled at that.

“So, you have a boy you love? You want to help this sept? You see I can’t go over to ‘pure blood alliance’ as they call themselves. You know, the Wendigo and scattered Uktena and Red Talons who attacked and slaughtered our comrades. I can’t go over to them and say to them ‘Oh, wait a moment, I am sorry, but I have one Black Fury that does not want to deal with the problems of growing up, so you just have to wait to attack us’. I can’t do that. If we don’t get more warriors, we will fall. That is just a matter of fact. Sure it will take a while for the next generation to grow up, but the sooner the better, because we have lost so many, and we are struggling to keep that defensive line by the day. And yet you come here and you tell us ‘I will not sacrifice any of myself, I don’t want to pull my weight, I am fine with being a part of this sept and pack and taking the protection and food and friendship, but I don’t want to do the hard sacrifices’, that is what you are saying to us right now. ”

Some voices from other garou was then heard questioning Aya, asking her what she was doing or shouted disapprovingly. It was hard to make out individual sentences, but the overwhelming meaning was clear; that Aya disappointed them.

Wind Daughter growled:

“She is still a part of my tribe! And on my command! I will not force her to do anything that she is not ready to do, and if that will mean war, I will declare it!”

A tense silence quickly spread at those words. Ayas soft voice was eventually heard:

“I… I need time to give you what you want, but I will. I don’t want war or conflict, but I can’t promise that I will have a child within a year. I can’t give you that. But I can promise that I will do my best.”

“Excellent,” said Creek Mother. “Then we don’t have a problem. We will just see this as a temporal little scuff. And we shall just move along with what is happening, and I do appreciate your effort for this sept. I know how hard of a request this is. I myself bore children at the age of fourteen for my tribe and sept. I know what you are offering and what you are giving away. But to be a garou is to sacrifice oneself for a greater cause. That is just fact.”

Wind Daughter then turned toward Aya and asked:

“Are you sure about this?”

“I don’t want war over this,” answered Aya. ”And, I think I do love him. And if this is what I should do for all of us, then let’s move things along. I know that I want to bear kids in my life, and if I need to do it now and not in four years, then let it be so.”

Wind Daughter nodded seriously.

“Your sisters will always support you, no matter what you choose. But I want it to be your choice, and no one else’s. If this is what you want to do, let it be so. But I will fight for you and do everything I can to make sure that you are not forced to do anything you do not want to.”

Veronica in her homid form, then calmly walked up to Wind Daughter, and in a normal voice, just loud enough so that those who were close enough and listened was able to hear, asked:

“Wind Daughter, would your sept accept a pack that suddenly does not feel welcome in its current sept?”

Mumblings quickly spread to the whole camp. Veronica who made a hasty look towards Creek Mother saw Piotr a bit behind her widened his eyes in chock. A few voices that could be made out asked if the pack were going to go against the will of the garou nation, if they were going to leave the sept.

“We are not going anywhere, we are not going to run,” said Ray, but as she was among the crowd few heard her.

“You are welcome if you wish to,” answered Wind Daughter.

“Good to know,” said Veronica and walked away.

Ray laid down on the ground right where she stood.

“Are you okay?” asked Spring Pisser, now also known as Party Pie.

“Yeah,” answered Ray. “Fine. Perfect. Lovely. Everything is going to hell.”

“Would you like a cold towel or something?”

“Where would you get a cold towel from?”

Party Pie reached in to a bad and draw out a towel, then did something with it and frost spread over it.

“Tada,” he said. “I have a cold towel now.”

“That is fucking amazing,” said Ray, accepted the towel and put it over her eyes.

In the meantime most had waited quietly to see who would speak next. There was an atmosphere of anxiety. Some looked at Creek Mother, some at Wind Daughter and Aya, and some even at Veronica.

Aya bowed hastily towards Wind Daughter and then towards Creek Mother, and then slowly walked away. Creek Mother then said to Aya:

“I take it that we have an agreement.”

Aya made a light sigh, and then answered:

“Yes.”

“Excellent. Now, let the festivities continue. Do you wish to have any drink before you leave us, Wind Daughter?”

“I will have nothing now, thanks,” growled Wind Daughter, and walked after Aya.

The tension seemed to have being loosed and music once again started to play. Just as Creek Mother said, the festivities slowly started again. Aya had a bland stare, and slowly walked away.

Ray reached up with her paw, still in her crinos form, and still with the towel over her eyes and shouted:

“C’mhere! Aya! I can’t come to you, so you have to come to me.”

But the one who came was not Aya, but Veronica.

“Well,” said Veronica in her usual serious voice. “This won’t do.”

“I fixed it,” said Ray, still from under the towel. ”Silver Shadow doesn’t have to. I took care of it.”

“What did…?” Veronica started to ask, but cut herself of. “No. Not here.”

“You can trust the Party pajer”

Veronica kicked lightly on Rays side and said a bit annoyed:

“Change to something you can come up in.”

“Ehh. I can walk in crinos better. I’ve been since child, like literally.”

“Then, get up. We need to talk.”

“Well, maybe I should be in something else, so I don’t make you fall over if I stagger. Ohh. Four paws are better than two!”

Ray staggered up and shifted to lupus at the same time. She came quite close to falling to the ground a couple of times, but manages to just keep herself from doing that.

“Okay,” asked Ray. “Where are we going?”

“Somewhere we can talk.”

Part 2

View
December 19th to 20th, 1949 - Midwinter Celebration part 2

After the events of the Midwinter Celebration, Veronica and Ray talked walked over to the cliff where they talked last time, on the insistence of Veronica at they really needed to talk. Veronica tried to pressure Ray to say what she had done. Ray who was a bit drunk answered avoiding and hesitant, but eventually confessed that she had made a deal with Creek Mother, but did not go into details about that. After a while, Veronica went to get Aya.

In the meantime Aya sat in a tree, in her lupus form, and talked things over with Wind Daughter who stood below her. Wind Daughter expressed her clear disapproval over the breeding program and made clear to Aya that the Black Furies would always stand by Aya if needed. She also mentioned that she was unable to bear children due to a battle accident. Aya expressed her gratitude towards Wind Daughter, whom then had to leave.

Veronica convinced Aya to follow her to Ray. The first thing Ray said when Veronica and Aya got back to her was that she would miss them when they left for the Black Furies. Veronica told Aya that Ray had made some kind of deal with Creek Mother. They continued to talk about the program, how it affected them, what Aya had agreed to do, and how Veronica had made a point in to Creek Mother and the entire Sept. Ray made Aya and Veronica promise not to tell Silver Shadow anything about the deal that Ray made. Then Ray mentioned that Laughs at Death might be able to find out who were Ray’s parents. She also said that it might be Blood Oath, as he was labeled Charach as he once had a metis child that he told was killed at birth, and that the mother was banished. They also talked about their dreams for the future. Ray wanted to run in the woods with Silver Shadow. Veronica wanted to find out how her mother and Gunhilde got killed.

Eventually Aya and Veronica left to get some sleep, but Ray stayed, still waiting for Silver Shadow.

The next day, Veronica once again showed up. She had brought a basket with a warm blanket and some warm soup with lots of meat in it. It had continued to snow. They both sat quietly and ate for a while. Veronica made sure that Ray was no longer drunk or hurt, and then said that she finally thought she understood that Ray not only loved Silver Shadow, but actually was in love with her. She said that she did not really understand those things, but hoped they would be happy. She also said that she thought it was brave of Ray to make a deal with Creek Mother, but also foolish, and that she thought that Ray ignored the pack as a hole when she only thought about Silver Shadow, who was not even there, and ignoring Aya, who also needed support. Veronica continued to say that Ray had not acted like a leader. Then they started to argue about who was the better fighter of the two of them. Both seemed confident that they would win. Surprisingly calmly they agreed to decide that on the spot. They agreed to not use claws, teeth, weapons or even gifts. They agreed to fight in crinos. Ray said that she fought she would have an advantage in that form, but Veronica told her that she actually liked that form, but usually avoided it as it was harder to keep her temper under control in it.

They turned out to be quite evenly matched. Veronica was more agile, faster and a more skilled fighter, but Ray was stronger, had better reflexes, better instincts and actually fought more aggressively. Ray simply wanted that win more than Veronica, who fought a little more defensively. Ray the first thing Ray did was tackle Veronica to the ground, but despite that Veronica managed to keep Ray of balance with lots of quick punches, while Ray only managed a few, as Veronica also managed to avoid many of them. But then Ray landed two very hard hits that made Veronica dizzy. After that it was just a matter of time as punch after punch landed. Veronica raised a paw when she was close to lose consciousness and yielded.

Most of Ray’s bruises and scrapes had healed during the fight, but Veronica was bloody, with one eye swollen shut and lots of bruises. Despite this, once the fight was over she got up like it did not bother her at all. Veronica then asked Ray to get the mead out of the basket. About a minute later all of Veronica’s wounds had healed. They sat down at the same place as before with a pint of mead each, and the only trace of that there had even been a fight was the markings in the snow with some red spots of blood here and there in the otherwise white newly fallen snow.

Veronica said that she apparently underestimated Ray, but was glad that she did, and hoped that Ray one day would lead the pack. They continued to talk about how they both were orphans. Ray asked Veronica to help her do an errand for Laughs at Death, in return for him trying to find out who were Ray’s parents. Veronica promised to help. After they continued to talk for a while, Ray agreed that she had acted to hastily when she made the deal with Creek Mother and to follow Veronica back and support Aya.

We are back outside the mansion were the man they talked to just told our heroes that it would not be possible for them to leave the premesis.

Veronica decided to att least tyr and started climbing the wall around the mansion, but gets a strong feeling of disgusts which get stronger as she gets higher up. and gives upp before she reaches the top

SS slipped in to the Umbra and sees that the wall here is made of compost, and there is a big dome of tentacles coming out of the top of it. SS draws the conclusion that it is of the wyrm and is an defense system, probably triggered by when they broke the egg. She then asks the Wyver to ask Aya if she can do something to help them get out of the mansion, he says that he will do what she asks

On the other side Aya seas the wyver coming and breathing fier on the dome and then flying towards her and landing near her to then forward Silver-Shadows message. The grope (Aya, Blood-oath and the wyver) decides that they will go forward with the cleansing rittual as planed. The wyver forwards that message to Silver-Shadow.

On the inside ray tries to climb the wall as Veronica did, and gets the same reaction, but musters it out. (SS returns from the umbra)When Ray are to get over the top of the wall it starts to feel as it is burning on her, but she dosn't give upp, but then SS pules her dow from the wall and they sees that her fur is burned and that she has gotten quite harsh burns on her skin too.

Veronica then goes back to the mansion, but do dot see the guard that crouches in the hedges and inside the garage. But ray and SS sees them. A fight brakes out and Ray kill 1, ray incapacitated 2 and Veronica Superkills 1. The guards also killed one of the persons they rescued form the basement. Ray goes back into the house to look if there is more surprises.

Aya started the ritual in the umbra  .

Ray finders the guy that they met in the garage in the basement. They talked and after 2 attempts on sense Wyrm she manage to feel that he has wyrm on him, but he ain't of wyrm. He tells Ray that he is a Vampire. Ray tells the man that they will burn down the house and that he therefore should leave. He wants free passage out of there, and as payment he is willing to tell them everything he now about the persons that are borrowing the mansion of him. SS popes into the Umbra and sees that the room here is a big ass church-like room with bane like worms that are trying to find a way out of ther. SS goes back to the Realm and tells the other girls what she saw.

In the Umbra Aya succeed with the cleansing ritual. Go girl!

Ray and the man continues to talk with the Vampire and the girls take the deal and then they feel something that feel like an earthquake and hear blood oath roar and goes ut to the ground where they see a lightly burned Blood-oth. They tell blood oath what they has found out as far (That the Black Spiral cancers is behind this) and in anger she pules Veronica in to the umbra to smack the banes that are slipping out ot the Umbra from the house.

in the umbra Aya seas this and goes to help them.

Ray and SS  if left with the vampire and he tell them the following

The person he knows is named Carl Barlo, (Ray remembers that he is involved with the polish mafia here and in St. Luis and in Chicago.) He has almost supernatrual green eyes and hides them with sunglasses, a well cropped bear and greaser-looking hair. Often hangs on the local Otolus. He manages an asfalt-plantage on the south-east outskirts of st. Louis. He lives in the slum outside the city by the highway it is an wight trash area. But the Vampire hits that he might not be there anymore. He has a picture of him, but it is in his study, so there gang goes upstairs to get it. After they get the picture they let the Vampire go.

They all discusses (after the battle against all the banes is over) what they should do with the two humans they rescued from the basement that is till alive, and a quite heated decision they decide to take them to the hanging tree and oak friend comes to help the humans. Then they goes back to the sept to give a report and then there is party time!

Session 22/1-17

The girls visited the White Dove Bar in order to get information from Marika, but first went back to the Caern of the Urban Seed to let Silver-Shadow rest a bit, as she was quite tired and stressed out at the lack of trees in the huge city. In the bar, Ray talked to the bartender and found out that Marika Balik most likely would show up there later that evening. Ray wanted to talk with Marika alone, so Aya and Veronica waited outside at the car. Later they saw Ray and Marika walking hand in hand out of the bar and into an alley. Aya and Veronica saw Ray shaking her head towards them, but they decided that they could not let Ray go into something that could be dangerous by all alone. So they climbed up to the rooftops and snuck a peek on what was going on.

Apparently Marika and Ray "made love". Aya seemed to try to come to grip with what was going on, while Veronica was both confused and curious. But then it seemed like a ripple went over their sight, and afterwards whatever Ray experienced seemed enhanced to pure ecstasy and she went from a somewhat reluctant to an eager participant. Despite that, Aya and Veronica deemed that it did not seem to be any real danger, so they waited. After all, Ray had apparently entered into this of her own free will.

Later, Ray followed Marika towards her club. Aya and Veronica tried to follow by starting Ray’s car, the Black Beetle. To their surprise the car talked to them through the radio and agreed drive them to Ray. They met Ray outside of the Black Dog bar. Aya was furious at Ray. Not so much for what she had done, but that she took it upon herself to pay what Marika demanded. All three of them were a bit embarrassed when it became clear that Aya and Veronica had witnessed what occurred in the alley. Aya and Veronica told Ray that Marika had done something to Ray, and that seemed to make Ray a bit relived.

Veronica was a bit hesitant to enter the bar, because she was not sure she would be able to contain herself and not punch Marika, but Ray told her that she trusted her to not do that. The girls were expected and were let in despite that many others had to wait in line.

They went to a table where Marika and some of her body guards were. She reveled herself as a Changeling, a Satyr, but before she gave the girls the information about where to find Conrad Richter Helmut. But apparently Ray had not yet fulfilled her part of the bargain yet. A bit later Ray appeared on the stage, dressed in only a skintight dress in some kind of scales, with her skin painted green and with glitter. All made to enhance and compliment her reptilian eye. There she made a burlesque dance that made most people in the bar look at her, including Veronica who drank Coke. Aya was however busy talking to some associates of Helmut, that Marika had pointed out, and tried to find out where Helmut was, but had not much success. Marika promised to have more information to them the next day.

Afterwards, when Ray was finished and had changed back and gotten the paint removed, the girls got in to the Black Beetle. Ray dunked her head on the steering wheel several times before she drove. Veronica asked the Black Beetle if it could turn on the show “The Midnight Cowboy”, and she seemed to enjoy that.

They got back to the Caern of the Urban Seed they saw Silver-Shadow just exiting the Umbra, close to the pond. Ray needed to talk to Silver-Shadow alone, so they went in to the tent they had been given.

Later when they emerged from the tent and ate, they seemed to be relieved and happier. Veronica did not seem to want to go to bed, but instead asked if there was anything else they could do. It was however very late and everyone else wanted to rest. Ray offered Aya and Veronica the soothing blanket, but Aya said that she had trouble falling asleep. Ray however insisted that it would help, and Silver-Shadow wanted to introduce them to Sensei Coy, though it was not a good time to do so now. The talking then escalated to a snow ball fight.

When the snow ball fight ended, Irene Johnson, an elder of the sept of the Urban Seed, asked them about how long they were going to stay. Ray answered that they were there to deliver a package, but had a hard time locating the receiver.

Later in the tent, neither Aya, nor Veronica fell asleep, while Ray and Silver-Shadow snored synchronized. Aya stirred, twisted and turned, while Veronica sat up as if she wanted to stay awake. A skinny, ragged haunted man quietly entered the tent and held up a finger over his lips as a sign to be quiet. Veronica who was the first to see him was a bit surprised, but waved at him to come in. He gestured to wake up Ray, and Aya did so. The man whispered somewhat slurring that they had to get out of there, and that Ray had to follow him. When Ray asked why, he just told them that he was John Smith.

Ray asked Aya and Veronica to look after Silver-Shadow. John Smith took Ray’s hand and they seemed to disappear. Veronica apparently very tired, looked a bit hopeful and asked if this meant there were more things to do that day. Aya looked very skeptical on Veronica in response to that. Veronica said that she did not want to sleep, as she had a calm day, and did not want it to end.

After about an hour Ray returned, reeking of sewer. The said: “Shit is happening, but not tonight. I need to fucking sleep”, and then she collapsed next to Silver-Shadow, almost on top of her. Soon they all slept, even Veronica, eventually fell asleep.

All four of them dreamed that night the same dreams. The first was about a wave of sludge, smog and death, sweeping over St Louise, ripping houses apart. In the wave there were sharks with green eyes and black fur. The Caerns of the Stone Cauldron, the Burning Heart, the Silver Oak and the Rusted Fate were all smacked and completely destroyed. The hairy green eyed sharks tore humans and Garou apart. After the wave passed what remained were smacked buildings, toxic waste and smog. The sharks, now walking on two legs, walked smiling among the ruins, picked up survivors and gutted them alive.

The dream faded, but a new one emerged. A dark individual skulked in a city. He was somewhat diffuse, but he wore a suit, and the suit started sweat blood, which started to flow. He walked through a building, and everything he touched turned to gold. Then the wave from the last dream came and washed him away.

That dream too faded, and one final dream replaced it. The four saw each other and how they all grew up and started to age. As the aged, it was like a heavy burden more and more was placed upon their shoulders, and they became more sad and desperate. But the Wyvern was seen at the distance, and he flew towards them. He landed, put his wings around them and shrieked, making the entire dream ripple. The four Garou were rejuvenated and once again were the girls they were supposed to be. All five of them together managed to attack the dream itself and tear it apart. And the girls woke up.

After a few moments of disorientation, the Wyvern’s voice was heard in their heads: “Poison. It is all around you. Something was in your dreams. Another mind. Tearing upon your.”

“What other mind?” asked Ray. “I do not know, but I came to help you, to rip the illusion apart.” “Thank you, great Wyvern” said Ray.

“It was an illusion. It wasn’t a vision then?” asked Veronica somewhat frightened.
“It was thoughts. Someone else, influencing you dreams, through magic of old.”
“What was it trying to influence all dreams?” asked Ray.
“Decay. The last one. Decay.”
After moment of silence, when it was clear that the Wyvern would not say anything else, Ray said:
“I need to tell you guys something. It is both good news and bad news. I talked to Creek Mother. She will not force me to do something I do not want to do, and she asked me to look out for possible Wyrm infestation here.”
“So?” asked Silver-Shadow. “That goes with the territory.”
“Yes, but she already knew about it. It was one of the reasons that she let us go here. We spoke and she entrusted things to me. So, the terms have changed in the deal, so I am not trapped anymore. I feel like we have her more like an ally now.”

Silver-Shadow looked at Ray, turned around, started to walk out, and said:
“I need to hunt.”
“You can’t do that!” answered Ray.
“I need to do something.”
“You can’t be in Lupus in the city.”

But Silver-Shadow had already left the tent. Aya looked after her and said:
“Someone needs to follow her, or she will get shot.”
“Well,” answered Ray. “She ran away from me, so you have to do it.”
Ray burrowed her head into her pillow, and Aya and Veronica shifted to Lupus and tried to follow Silver-Shadow, but they soon lost the stealthy Lupus. Veronica then returned to the tent.

“I am sorry, but we couldn’t find her,” said Veronica with her usual quiet and serious tone.
“I don’t get it,” mumbled Ray, still with her head in the pillow. “She wanted me to get closer to her tribe.”
After a while Veronica left the tent, there she saw Aya standing and looking concerned towards Kurt Albrecht. Aya whispered to Veronica:
“I know that it is said that a good night’s sleep is supposed to make you look younger. He must have had a really bad night’s sleep.”

Veronica looked at him and whispered back to Aya, still in her serious tone:
“Yes, and he smells older too.”
“And did you see what he was reading?” asked Aya.
“No, I didn’t really, a newspaper I think.”
“He was reading about a killer whale. Wasn’t that one of the pictures you saw in your dream?”
“It was the only piece of garbage I could see clearly. But I don’t understand. Orcas live at the sea, not inland.”

As they were talking, they had gotten bowls of porridge to the tent were Ray was. Aya tried to give Ray a bowl, but Ray didn’t seem to want to have it, and instead said:

“We can’t tell anyone about this. Because yesterday, I talked to John Smith, and there are Black Spiral’s about. They kidnapped him. Which means we can’t talk about this, because they would take us out. We need to do this quietly.”
“I have been told about them, from my grandpa Pioter,” said Veronica, she then continued to tell Aya and Ray what she knew about the Black Spiral Dancers.

After a while the conversation returned to the current situation.
“I don’t know why Silver-Shadow ran away,” said Veronica, “but I guess there is not much we can do about it. She really did everything she could to try to avoid us.”
“Yes,” answered Ray. “I guess we can try to go out and talk to the tribes.”
“What can we say if we can’t say anything about all of this?” wondered Veronica.
“You just act like you are tourists that are interested in the tribe. I think they will be less on their guard. I am a Bone Gnawer, I will be inquisitive and my side is already chosen, and I have an agenda. Or, I don’t know, you can head to the Caern with the Glass Walkers and Silver Fangs.”

“I suppose so,” said Veronica in a low and tired voice.
Ray seemed to take notice of that and asked:
“Why were you so happy yesterday? Give us the truth now, and not lots of shit.”
“I am not really sure,” answered Veronica in a miserable tone. “How can I put this? I didn’t know that sleep could be that relaxing.”

“Well, the blanket is officially yours,” said Ray. “No buts. It is yours now. And you will use it every night to honor that I gave you a present. It is to make up for all birthdays that I missed; also I didn’t give you a Christmas present, did I? And you don’t have to say thank you, just accept it. We want you to feel good.”

“Well,” answered Veronica in a quiet and almost desperate voice. “I guess I have to tell you a bit more about this then. It is about what I usually dream.”

“What do you usually dream?” asked Ray.
“Well, when it is not illusions and prophesies, it is carnage!”
“You have nightmares? Why didn’t you tell us? I literally have had this blanket for a while.”
“It was yours. And I didn’t want to worry you.”
“Aya,” said Ray. “Give her the speech you gave me. It worked on me.”

Aya sad herself down more proper, and spoke to Veronica in a serious and somewhat harsh voice:
“It is not your choice to not let us in. It is not your choice to not let us help. We are a pack and we should work like one, and behave like we are one. We cannot help you if you do not…”
“Aya,” interrupted Ray. “That is too much anger.”
“Well, I am not angry. I just tried to do the same thing that I did to you.”
“Veronica. We love you, we care about you. And if we don’t know how you are feeling we can’t help you. And helping you makes us feel good. It makes us sad to see you so troubled.”

“How can I put this?” asked Veronica. “I didn’t really know what this nightmare was about before, but when I for once didn’t experience it, it is slowly coming back to me, now when I am awake and I can see it a bit more clearly. It is not much, but in the carnage, I can see a Garou. And I think… I think it’s my mother.”

Ray hugged Veronica and said to her in a soft voice:
“We are here for you.”
“I am not sure if it is real, or something I only dream, but I see her be slaughtered. I have had this dream for every night for as long as I can remember.”
“Well,” said Ray and put the blanket over Veronica. “We know how to fight it now. This is your cloak against the dream.”
“But with it I don’t dream at all,” said Veronica.
“Isn’t that preferable?” asked Ray.
“For a day, yes. But now I want to understand it more.”
“Well, you are not ready for that, right?”
“No, perhaps not.”
“It is in the past, so you can’t fix it anyway, right? We will help you get to the bottom of this.”
“But perhaps I can remember more things?”
“Perhaps you can remember more things, when you are a bit older and you can handle it? Or when we are not in the middle of this?” asked Ray.
“And has gotten some nights of really good sleep before,” said Aya, who by now hugged Veronica over Ray.
“Also,” continued Ray. “If you fall asleep without it, I will put in on you. And then I would have to stay awake to make sure it is on you. You know how stubborn I am.”
“Yeah, I know,” sniffled Veronica.
“Remember when I climbed that wall, and got burned? And I do way more for my friends and my family.”
Veronica sniffled out a “thank you” that was merely audible and started to cry into Ray’s shoulder.
“Us girls without a family got to keep together, right?” mumbled Ray into Veronicas ear. After a little while, she said:
“Well, I need to rest, and wait for Silver-Shadow, because I am tired. You look out for each other?”
“We will do that,” answered Aya.
“Don’t get into trouble, I mean.”

But when Ray was getting ready to move Veronica, she noticed that Veronica had fallen asleep against her shoulder. Soon they all slept.
Ray suddenly woke up with a really bad feeling and called out to Wyvern.
“Wyvern, is Silver-Shadow okay? Can you check?”

The Wyvern answered:
“I do not know. I will check.”
After a while, he answered:
“No!”
“Where is she?” asked Ray.
“I do not know.”

By that time, all three were awake. After a short confusing shatter, they all went out to search for Silver-Shadow. Aya managed to pick up a scent-trail and guided the Ray and Veronica. They eventually found Silver Shadow in a park, in her Crinos form, with serious wounds. Behind her there was a dog, with its spine twisted the wrong way, a few meters away there was a woman with ripped open from her thigh to her throat, and in front of Silver-Shadow there was a baby carriage. Ray, Aya and Veronica rushed forwards, but could only watch as Silver-Shadow struck her claws into and through the baby carriage. The raging beast was all there was at the moment, but slowly Silver-Shadow seemed to come to her senses. Aya threw up, Veronica ran away, but Ray continued to rush forward, and got kicked away by Silver-Shadow, who was not yet completely in control.

Ray walked up to Silver-Shadow and hugged her, as Silver-Shadow in horror looked at the baby carriage and her own blood soaked claw, and howled in sorrow and regret.

“What happened?” asked Ray as she continued to hug Silver-Shadow. “What hurt you? Where is it?”
“Dead,” answered Silver-Shadow in a deep but depressed voice. “I can’t be here.”
She tore a hole into the Umbra and stepped in.
“Don’t go! Silver-Shadow, don’t leave me,” Ray cried out, as she followed her into the rift.

When Aya had collected herself, she heard a faint crying from the baby carriage. There was a baby there. Seriously wounded, bleeding and mauled, but alive, for the moment. She took it, rushed over to Veronica, whom sat under a tree a bit away, and together they stabilized the wounded with talen band aids. The life of the baby was saved, but only for the moment. More care was needed, more than modern medicine were likely to be able to provide, so the only option seemed to be the Gifts of the Garou. Aya took the baby and as fast she could without hurting the baby. She started to go back to the Caern of the Urban Seed, while Veronica went to take care of the scene left behind.

Veronica first put the dog out of its misery, as it still alive, but just barely. The woman was long dead, so there was nothing she could do for her. Veronica then tried to make it look like the damage had been caused by the dog. It was a gruesome work, but she managed to do it, but not without some tears in her eyes. If it would fool anyone who inspected the scene was not clear, but she tried her best. Then she went into the Umbra to tell Silver-Shadow and Ray about the surviving baby.

There in the Umbra, Veronica found Ray and Silver-Shadow in their Homid forms sitting close together and looked tiny and miserable.
“Hello,” said Veronica. “We need to go back. I have taken care of some of the mess there.”
“Take Silver-Shadow,” said Ray.
“Thank you, Veronica,” said Silver-Shadow.
“By the way, the baby is alive. Aya is taking it to the Caern for healing. We had some talens to use.”

Silver-Shadow seemed a bit relieved to hear that, though her eyes were still wet with tears.
“Are you certain?” she asked.
“We managed to stabilize it, but it will take more, much more, and I think only the Gifts of a skilled healer can do something here.

Silver-Shadow continued to cry for a while, being held by Ray.
“You will be fine,” said Ray. “But you will need to go with Veronica now.”
“You are coming with us,” said Silver-Shadow.
“No,” said Ray with a low miserable voice.
“Yes, you are.”
“I think Silver-Shadow got a point,” said Veronica. “Why shouldn’t you come with us?”
“Because I am in pain and I need to think.”
“Of course,” said Veronica she also with a somewhat desperate tone. “Just promise to return as soon as you can.”
“Are you sure about this?” asked Silver-Shadow. “Ray, are you certain?”

But Ray didn’t answer.
Silver-Shadow tore a rift in the Umbra and walked through.
“Go after her and take care of her,” said Ray in a low voice.
“I will,” answered Veronica. “Just don’t do anything foolish.”
“Would I?” asked Ray.
“We need you.”
“I just make everything worse.”
“No,” answered Veronica with tears in her eyes. “No! You are the one who is holding us together. So, yes. Take your time. Think through what you need, but return to us! As soon as you can.”
“Go. Take care of Silver-Shadow. For me.”

After a last look at, and nod to Ray, Veronica followed Silver-Shadow out of the Umbra. They walked away from the scene, and  both then shifted to Lupus to run to the Caern, to Aya and the wounded baby.

Session 24/2 2017

We meet up with the girls when all of them except Ray were heading to sept of the Umbral Seed (the Bone gnawer/fianna Caern) with the baby boy. When they were getting close, they are met by two Garou in Hispo. They tell them that humans ain't suppose do be let in into the Caern, but they let the group pass after their explanation. When they get into the Caern they find it difficult to find help for the boy, but a woman on the council of elders help them. Her name is Iren Jonsen.

Aya stays with Iren while Silver-shadow uses the last of Veronicas healing talens. When silver-shadow has gotten all the help she can get from it they head back to the spring to go check on the baby. Where there is a discussion starting up about what is supposed to be done with the baby. Kurt says that they should kill the baby, in the name of mercy. When he says that Aya tells him otherwise and tells him that the curse of their biology did this, and that they have the responsibility to do everything they can to make it up to him. Killing him would only mean that they did not do right by their responsibility.

Iren says that she has some Kinfolk that will be able to take care of him but the girls will get to take care of the baby until dawn. When Kurt talks to Iren they notice that he has a tone of fear and disgust against her. When the group of people split up, Aya follows Kurt to find out more, there seems to be something that he is hiding. They talked and after a few minutes Kurt gives in and told Aya that Iden Jonsen is not to be trusted. That the caern is sick and that they should get away while they still could. To get the baby boy to the Sept of noble Reflection (Glass walker/Silver fangs, the other Caern of the city)

Silver-shadow hands the baby to Veronica and heads into the umbra. She walks down to the pond and calls on sensei Koi to get advice on the situation with the baby boy. She did not want to give him away, but look after him herself. After not really getting an answer she returns to the Realm. There she meets the Stargazer and Truth Catcher Chang Yho, they talk a bit and Yho tell Silver-shadow that she cant save everyone.

Silver-shadow and Aya returns to Veronica at the same time and they get a message from Wyvern that Ray wants to meet them at 8. The girls move to their tent and there Aya tells them what she knows. They decide to leave the Caern, with the baby so collect their things and head to the car. There they get a message from Ray through the Wyvern that they should meet at the White dove at 7.30 instead.

Before they leave Silver-shadow heads back to collect two of the koi fish from the pond. They stop at a shop on their way to the Sept of noble Reflection and Silver-shadow  sneaks in with her gift and steals a bunch of fish-stuff. There they leave the baby in the hands of a butler that promises to take care of him.
